Hello Hunniebuns! I hope everybody had a fantastic Thanksgiving Weekend, their bellies filled with turkey, mashed potatoes and my favourite, stuffing! My review today will be on Esqido Dove’s Wing Lash Kit, and as a massive lash junkie I was extremely excited to purchase my very first lash ‘kit’. I typically buy my lashes individually as I tend to be very picky with my lashes, but I’ve heard so many good things about Esqido that I figured I should get a kit. I’ve always been a huge fan of their lash glue though, so I’m surprised that I haven’t gotten their lashes sooner. I’m already on my fifth bottle!
Let’s start with the packaging, I love how the logo and typeface are so aesthetically pleasing. The box is built pretty sturdy and thick, it has a matte finish to it and isn’t too bulky, a nice item to display on a shelf if you wanted to. The print of the dove and typography matches the inside packaging, a nice metallic rose gold colour. They have two kits, the Dove’s Wing (More light and natural) and Raven’s Wing (More volume and length) – If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know I’m obsessed with lashes that are really whispy and fluffy, but I put some consideration into the thought of reviewing a more natural set because I already have so many voluminous lashes.
When opened, you are presented with a pamphlet that displays descriptions of each product contained inside as well as a guide on how to care for your lashes and application techniques. After removing that three lash boxes are neatly fitted in a foam mould and a tube of their lash glue included in the bottom. I think the presentation of the lashes is very nice, it has a luxurious feel to it. However, I would have appreciated a clear plastic lid over the lashes to protect them from dust and bacteria. I understand that it’s in a box, but something about the lashes being exposed doesn’t really make me feel too comfortable.
I tried on all three pairs to demonstrate how they looked, as well as getting a chance to test out my new camera! 🙂
I wore very minimal makeup, just concealer, filled out my brows and mascara. This is me without any false lashes and one coat of mascara.
Unforgettable: The very first pair in the box, the most natural of them all. It has a rating of 2/5 in the volume department and I can definitely see that. For me, these lashes didn’t seem to do much, just added the smallest bit of additional volume to my natural lashes. On the website and in the pamphlet, it looks a bit more flared out near the outer edge and more voluminous, supposedly giving it a gradient winged out effect. I didn’t really see this in the lashes on their own but when you apply them you can see that the length of the outer edge did get slightly longer.
Unforgettable applied: These were so natural that I could have told you either they were my natural lashes or lash extensions and you would have probably believed me. I LOVED how soft and lightweight the lashes felt. I couldn’t tell I was wearing anything at all, and it held a beautiful curl. The lash band was made very sturdy and pliable, it felt like it would have been too thick of a lash band but I didn’t even have to tightline to wear them which is incredible. I think these lashes are perfect for everyday wear, no-makeup makeup looks or if you don’t want anything too dramatic.
Oh So Sweet: This pair seemed to be a less dramatic version of lashes that I like to wear, more of a rounded style and very whispie with a criss-cross pattern. I really loved how the length in the middle was the longest, perfect for giving your eyes a more dolly effect. It was rated 3/5 for volume. Something I noticed from the lashes is that they’re very long in the band, I had to trim quite a lot off, and I’m not just saying that because I have Asian eyes but it had more band than most lashes I’ve worn in my life.
Oh So Sweet Applied: Again, these lashes didn’t feel heavy at all on my lash line, and the band was barely visible. The lashes blended easily into my own, and they had a beautiful curl to them. I think these lashes are perfect for those who have more of an almond or elongated eye shape who wants to round them up a bit. They also don’t look too dramatic, though I personally would love a bit more volume.
Lashorette: I was very excited for this pair of lash, it was also rated 3/5 for volume but it seemed to be a night time lash look compared to the first two. It has a bit more of a dramatic flare from the clusters of lashes and criss-cross, as well as different length heights. Just looking at it already gave you a very sexy feel to it. I thought the lash band looked a little bit thicker than the first two though, but it didn’t seem to give me any problems.
Lashorette Applied: As you can see, the outer corners are very long, adding a lot of drama to the eyes and slightly lifting my inner corner a bit. The band blended in pretty well and the weight didn’t seem to change either. The lashes did, however, seem to be very flat, being the same length all along. I think the centre could have been a bit longer to add some more flair. For personal use, I would probably apply individual lashes in the middle to make it a bit rounder for myself. For someone who doesn’t wear lashes often or like a more light look, these would be perfect for an event or evening wear.
Their glue is also latex free and has one of THE BEST hold of all time, allowing me to wear for up to 10 hours without it budging, or even when my eyes tear up, the corners won’t lift. I did, however, wish that they came in a black formula as I often wear my lashes with liner. For Three pairs of lashes and a tube of glue, the kit retails for $85 USD / $110 CAD which I think is more than a reasonable price. The glue sells on its own for $10 USD / $13 CAD, and the lashes are about $29 USD / $38 CAD.
I think the kits are a wonderful gift for beauty junkies and lash lovers – the Dove kit is great especially for those who are interested in lashes but don’t want too much drama or trouble. You can get 10% off your order by signing up for their newsletter!
