Tis the season to be jolly! Hey hunnie buns, how is everybody doing? Are you guys enjoying December? Have you gone and done your holiday shopping yet?
I was recently gifted a large majority of the new Dior Holiday 2017 products. Honestly, I had a few of these sitting in a drawer for a while because I’ve been a bit backed up and busy recently, but I’m so impressed with some of these sets I really want to share with you guys!
The first set I want to share with you is the Rouge Dior Couture Lipstick Refill set – this set retails for $160 USD / $205 CAD and features 6 full-size bijou edition shades. It’s essentially one full-size lipstick in the shade 999 with the limited edition precious rocks embossed band, and 5 refillable bullets, so when you’re done with one lipstick you can change it to another or interchange whenever you feel. I love the concept of this, especially if you love to change up your shade often and you love a certain formula. The other five shades are 772 Classic Matte, 810 Distinct Matte, 414 Saint-Germain, 976 Daisy Plum, and 897 Mysterious Matte – giving you an amazing range of formulas and stunning shades fit for the holiday. I think this is a perfect gift for a lip-loving friend!
The next lip set is the Dior Rouge Lipstick Trio, retailing at $98 USD / $128 CAD. It features three iconic shades and a collectors pouch which I’m obsessed with. The pouch itself feels very sturdy and well made, a vinyl-like material that has a glossy finish with the Christian Dior logo embossed in it with a glitter overlay, a perfect replacement for a clutch this holiday or to take with you on your travels. The three lipstick shades are 999 Matte, the staple shade every Dior girl needs, 060 Premiere and 219 Rose Montaigne.
I fell in love with Rose Montaigne immediately after wearing it, it’s more of a sheer comfort colour, giving your lips the perfect rosy pink flush it needs to look healthy and hydrated, I basically take it everywhere with me now and use it periodically throughout the day to touch up. (Shade on the very right) I already own 999 Matte and have a few of them to be quite honest so I gave them away to my close friends. The shade premiere is a gorgeous true rose shade and applies very smooth and effortlessly. I feel like this shade suits so many different skin tones and is easy to wear and can pair with any look.
If you’re looking for travel-friendly, then you’re probably looking for the Couture Colour Wardrobe Palette, retailing at $89 USD / $98 CAD that features both eyeshadow and lip shades. The eyeshadow reminds me of their eye reviver palette, but a bit more rose toned and a lot more shimmer. I love how you can create a very natural every day look with this palette and still have a festive holiday feel, the shimmering iridescent yellow gold shade looks absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to use it as an inner corner highlight or layer it as a topper to really make my look pop. I think I may be taking this palette with me when I travel to make my day easier. I love how the palette comes in a case that allows you to carry a brush with it (it came with a brush but I don’t usually keep them), and it has a lid over the lip colours as well because we all know how messy that can get. The exterior of the case is the same material as the holiday collection pouch, featuring the glittery rose gold CD logo on the front and it zips itself shut. The three lip colour shades are their lip maximizer in coral, ultra gloss in 643 and Rouge Dior in 365, giving you quite a good range for a holiday look on the go. This item would be the perfect gift for the one in your life who is always on the go!
I know, I know. I already have way too many lip colours to last me a lifetime but I could not resist this gorgeous Diorific Rouge Kohl Limited Edition 2017 lipstick in the shade 341 Pure Topaz. It retails at $38 USD / $46 CAD and the formula is so beautiful, it has a velvety matte finish almost powdered like and the colour lasts so long and vibrant throughout the day. Honestly, I’m not entirely on board with the packaging because it reminds me of a doorknob but I love the formula so much. It smells absolutely delicious too as per all Dior lippies. I’m not too sure if the shade I have is currently available anymore but on the Sephora website, I still see that they have 2 colours left in stock. I definitely recommend you getting this if you love that close to nothing feeling on your lips but still having an impact on colour.
Okay, this highlighter though had me shook. I’ve been eyeing it on my table top for a while now and I refuse to swatch it because I’m so obsessed with the design of it, prismatic shapes are really trending right now and Dior really got it right with their Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Precious Rocks in the Shade 001. Retailing at $57 USD / $69 CAD, I’m pretty sure this baby was a fast seller and is sold out across the nation – and even though it’s limited edition, I’m really hoping they’ll bring it back with even more shade. The formula is finely milled and pressed, giving you the softest smooth texture you can possibly get. When layered, you get the most intense glow, but diffused you get a natural glow from within which I love. The shade itself is a rosy champagne colour with pink reflects in it and it’s so eye-catching when you move the compact in the light. This is one of those purchases where I don’t regret and I know it’ll be featured on my vanity for a long time.
Overall, I found this years holiday collection absolutely stunning and I love the colours and products they came out. They’re so long lasting, iconic, and wearable by all skin tones which I love! What did you get from the holiday collection this year that I should check out? What were some of your favourites from my review? Let me know in the comments down below!
