Rain or shine, these two new luxury hair products are my new favourites of the month!
Hello my lovely readers! How has everybody been doing? Right now I’m back in Toronto enjoying (not really, haha) the snow and cold weather we’ve been getting recently. I’m so grateful for Voir hair care for sending me these wonderful goodies to help rehydrate and protect my hair to battle the frosty weather.

I first stumbled across Voir when I saw a few of my Canadian blogging friends post about them in their Instastories and posts and I was instantly intrigued solely on the idea that the company was based in Toronto, Canada. I’ve always been fascinated with supporting brands that have started locally from where I was born and it always brings me such joy to watch them grown, I knew I had to support this brand. The line only has 4 products right now and they currently offer shipping only to Canadian street addresses and P.O. boxes as they’re a fresh new company which is more than understandable. Shipping is a flat rate of $5 CAD and you get free shipping when you spend $75.
A few things I look for when I work with a brand is if their ingredients are natural and ethically sourced as well as if they’re cruelty-free which is the norm in the industry nowadays and I was not disappointed when I found out that Voir products are made with natural ingredients such as high-grade botanicals, plant extracts, cold-pressed plant oils so I know that no animals were harmed in the making of such amazing products. They’re also free from silicones, parabens, phthalates and all the other junkie fillers that we don’t need in our lives!
Another major aspect and selling point of this brand is how aesthetically pleasing all their packaging is. French is our official second language here in Canada, and Voir actually means to see in French. I feel as though their inspiration comes from art, on their website they stated that they were the medium and we were the canvas which was really poetic and made a lot of sense. I feel as though the images designed into their product packaging really flows with what the product is meant to do and represent. The cool thing is their packaging is also 100% recyclable making it eco-friendly.
I’ve tried several hair masques before in my lifetime as I have very thin and damaged hair from overprocessing it years ago (hence why I’ve had short hair for so long from cutting it often), but I have to admit I never tried a scalp detox before. The base of this hair masque has all these nourishing oils and butter such as Shea butter, Olive and Marula oil to help rehydrated and restore the scalp and hair. The major key ingredients to this rejuvenating formula are Rosebay extract, Red Clover extract and Argan oil. Rosebay extract helps reduce sebum in the scalp as well as the appearance of flakes which is great for those who have actively oily hair such as I do. Red clover extract helps promote the health of your scalp leaving your hair looking fuller and thicker. And I’m sure everyone already knows that Argan oil helps deep condition hair and promote healthier quenched looking hair.
I appreciated that even though this product was loaded with all these nourishing ingredients, it wasn’t heavy or thick. The consistency was very creamy and absorbed into my hair beautifully. The scent wasn’t overbearing even though there was perfume added to it, I wasn’t able to tell as it smelled natural to me. It’s suggested to be applied starting from the scalp to the ends then you leave it in for 2-3 minutes before rinsing and styling as usual, or if you wanted to deep condition leave it in wrapped in a hot towel for 15-20 minutes. I left it in for about 5 or so minutes while I was in the shower finishing up on my other routine like washing my body and shaving (who really shaves when it’s winter though, let’s be honest here). What I made sure to do was really massage it into my scalp because I do have thinner hair and an oily scalp before working it into my ends. After rinsing it out, my hair noticeably felt lighter and smooth where I was able to run my fingers through it without any knots. When I finished drying and styling my hair it felt as if I had just stepped out of a salon and had a blowout, my hair felt very light yet it was fuller than it normally is when dried down and straightened. At this point, I couldn’t stop myself from flipping my hair back and forth.
When looking at this bottle of hair oil, I can’t help but immediately feel warmth towards it from the vibrant warm colours making the name very appropriate as if you were holding a bottle of liquid sun yourself. This oil was meant to help nourish your hair while helping control fizz which was what it was good for. The pump itself delivers a very generous pump of product, one pump was more than enough for all the ends of my hair. It had a light sweet candy scent to it as I was expecting a citrus scent when I smelt it for the first time. When applied to damp hair, you can use it as a detangler and comb through with your fingers, or you can apply it as a deep preconditioner by leaving it in your hair with a hot towel for 20 minutes before shampooing. When you apply it lightly on dry hair you can restore shine and control any flyaway or frizz.
The texture of this oil is what you’d expect from any oil, however, it was a bit thicker formula than most, it had a viscosity similar to a runny gel which I appreciated as it didn’t run down my hand immediately trying to capture this image. Its key ingredients are Rosehip oil, Sunflower oil and Jojoba oil, but I also want to point out it has Avocado oil in it as well because we all love avocados. Rosehip oil is very rich in antioxidants and vitamins, it acts as a natural hydrator and locks in moisture while controlling fizz with its fatty acids (with the help of our friendly avocado). Sunflower oil is packed with nutrients that help condition and fortify your hair fibres, leaving them looking and feeling more nourished and smooth. Jojoba oil is a deep moisturizing ingredient that really penetrates each strand to soften and shine.
I use this oil after I shampoo and condition my hair in the shower and apply it when damp so it really soaks into my hair, and it helps me detangle my hair as well. After I style or dry my hair, I’ll add a pump into my hands and rub it back and forth to really warm up the product before applying it into my ends to give it some extra shine. Whatever remaining product I have in my hands I’ll gently pat on the top of my head to battle any flyaways or frizz and to really smooth it out.
So far I’ve been really loving these two products in conjunction with each other as it keeps my hair looking healthy and fresh.
Even when I’m wearing extensions it really helps my hair blend in effortlessly into the virgin hair as my hair has previously been processed before.

I just tried out @voirhaircare for the first time and I am amazed at how in under 10 minutes it gave me a salon finish! Thank you so much @voirhaircare and Nia for sending me these to review! The first thing that caught my attention about this brand is how aesthetically stunning their packaging is! I then fell in love learning about their Canadian roots and their inspiration behind the brand. I used the Rhythm of the Rain hair masque and scalp detox as a treatment after I washed my hair. It left my hair feeling so clean and weightless while still giving it some volume (I have VERY thin hair) – my hair felt rehydrated and fizz free. I then used A Walk in the Sun luxury hair oil to restore some shine and pat down some flyaways, as well as nourish the ends of my hair. There's a slight sweet candy scent that smells absolutely delectable. A blog post will be up next week on what I think of these products after using it for a bit longer, but so far I am loving the immediate results!! #voirhaircare #luxuryhaircare #canadianbrands #haircaretutorial #hairtutorial #maryhadalittleglam #beautyblogger #brian_champagne #make4glam #1minutemakeup #fakeupfix #makeup_clips #makeupvideo #beautyvideo #hairvideo #healthyhair #dailyinspo #l4l #bossbabes #bosslady #hairtutorialvideo #hairinspo #voir #hairdressermagic #hairtransformation #supportlocal #wakeupandmakeup @brian_champagne @wakeupandmakeup @hudabeauty @vegas_nay
